In celebration of the of #BlackHistoryMonth, we have teamed up with some the English Premier League and the Emirates FA Cup to illustrate 3 history-making trailblazers.

Ashley Cole: The Emirates FA Cup's most decorated player. With an incredible SEVEN FA Cup winners medals to his name, Ashley Cole has written himself into the history books. He won the famous trophy on three occasions with @Arsenal before topping that with a four-trophy haul during his time at @ChelseaFC. Regarded as one of the best left-backs @England has ever produced, Cole returned to the #EmiratesFACup in the 2018-19 season at the age of 38 to score his first Emirates FA Cup goal with Derby County!

Albert Johanneson: Albert Johanneson is no doubt a pioneer for Black football players at the very top level of our game, widely regarded as the first to feature in an FA Cup Final, in 1965. Playing as left-forward, Johanneson used his incredible speed and skill to influence games, quickly becoming a fan favourite at Don Revie’s @LUFC

"Sir" Les Ferdinand: In 1997, coinciding with my own return to North London. The then PFA Player of the Year (While at Newcastle) (See pic), Sir Les Ferdinand was bought by my club Tottenham Hotspur, the club (like myself) he also supported as a boy. Playing alongside Jürgen Klinsmann, Sir Les saved Spurs from relegation from the Premiership, and then helped them win the League Cup in 1999! During the 2001–02 campaign. Ferdinand scored the 10,000th goal in Premiership history on 15 December 2001 against Fulham. In 2005 "Sir" Les Ferdinand, (a moniker given him by QPR fans), received an MBE......nice! Though an actual knighthood would have been better!
